The Seminole Indians’ exceptional 2024 football season has earned recognition for several of their standout players, with five team members named to the prestigious Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State Football Team. The Indians, who finished with an impressive 10-2 record, are celebrating this achievement as a testament to their hard work, talent, and team spirit throughout the season.
Leading the way for the Indians is Logan McCormick, a junior wide receiver, who earned a spot on the 3rd Team All-State. McCormick’s impressive playmaking ability and consistency on the field made him one of the standout offensive performers for Seminole this year, contributing greatly to the team’s offensive success. His selection to the 3rd Team All-State highlights his status as one of the top wide receivers in Texas.
Alongside McCormick, Isaiah Aguirre, a senior offensive lineman, was named Honorable Mention. Aguirre’s dedication to protecting his quarterback and paving the way for the running game has been a key factor in the team’s success this season. His recognition as an Honorable Mention All-State player is a reflection of his significant role in the trenches.
Another senior, Wyatt Holmstrom, was also named Honorable Mention at quarterback. Holmstrom led the offense with poise and leadership, guiding the Indians’ high-powered attack throughout the season. His ability to read defenses and make critical plays in big moments earned him a spot among the state's best.
The Indians also had a standout special teams performer in Braden Bailey, who earned Honorable Mention for his contributions as a kick returner and punt returner. Bailey’s speed and vision on special teams were key assets for Seminole, often putting the offense in great field position and creating momentum shifts during games.
Lastly, Austin Olivas, a junior defensive back, received Honorable Mention recognition for his outstanding play in the secondary. Olivas’ ability to cover receivers, make tackles, and intercept passes was crucial to the Seminole defense, which played a big role in their successful campaign.
With a record of 10-2, the Seminole Indians’ 2024 season was one to remember, and these five players stand as a testament to the team’s remarkable performance. The recognition of these athletes on the TSWA All-State Football Team highlights the depth of talent on the Seminole roster, and the future looks bright as the team continues to build on their success.
