CANYON WEST PLAINS TOPS SEMINOLE INDIANS 33-10 IN SEASON OPENER

CANYON, TX — The Seminole Indians opened their season on the road at Happy State Bank Stadium but came up short against Canyon West Plains, falling 33-10 in the season opener.

Quarterback Dom Higgins led the Seminole offense, completing 26 of 39 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown. Despite Higgins’ steady performance through the air, the Indians struggled to sustain drives and convert opportunities into points.

On the ground, Caton Cramer carried the load, rushing 17 times for 79 yards and finding the end zone once. While Cramer showed determination in the backfield, Seminole’s offense as a whole was unable to keep pace with Canyon West Plains’ high-scoring attack.

Defensively, Austin Olivas led the Indians with 11 tackles, showcasing his effort and presence in the middle of the field. Despite his standout performance, Seminole struggled to contain Canyon West Plains’ offense, which racked up 33 points.

The Indians will look to regroup ahead of next week’s matchup, hoping to bounce back and get on the winning track in their home opener. Despite the setback, Seminole showed flashes of promise, particularly in Higgins’ accurate passing, Cramer’s persistence on the ground, and Olivas’ defensive effort.
