SEMINOLE, TX — The Seminole Indians celebrated their home opener in style, defeating Shallowater 45-27 at Wigwam Stadium, marking the 15th consecutive home win for the Indians.
Quarterback Dom Higgins guided the offense efficiently, completing 22 of 34 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown. Higgins connected with Jordan Garcia, who led the Seminole receiving corps with 7 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown, keeping the Shallowater defense on its heels.
The Seminole rushing attack was explosive, led by Caton Cramer, who carried the ball 20 times for 193 yards and four touchdowns. Cramer’s dominant performance on the ground helped control the tempo and gave Seminole a commanding lead.
Defensively, Seminole was relentless. Tyler Friessen and Diego Cortez each recorded 10 tackles, while Abraham Castillo added 9 tackles. Austin Olivas made a highlight-reel play with an interception returned for a touchdown. The Indians’ pass rush was led by Gabryl Alaniz and Xzarius Vasquez, each contributing 3 sacks in the contest, putting constant pressure on Shallowater’s quarterback.
The Indians’ balanced attack, combined with a stout defensive effort, proved too much for Shallowater, extending Seminole’s impressive home winning streak.
With the win, Seminole improves to 1-1 on the season and will face Sweetwater (1-1) at home next week in what promises to be another exciting contest.
