SEMINOLE’S ELROD CAPS HISTORIC SIGNING CLASS WITH DIVISION I COMMITMENT TO UTEP

Seminole’s Elrod Caps Historic Signing Class with Division I Commitment to UTEP

SEMINOLE, TX — Chase Elrod, standout offensive lineman for the Seminole Indians, has signed his National Letter of Intent during the early signing period to play Division I football at University of Texas at El Paso Miners (UTEP), adding a powerful finish to a landmark recruiting class for Seminole High School.

Elrod’s commitment marks the third Division I signing for the Seminole Indians’ 2026 class, highlighting the program’s continued success in developing collegiate-level talent. Known for his strength, technique, and leadership in the trenches, Elrod drew interest from multiple schools before choosing UTEP — a Conference-USA program competing at the FBS level.

“Chase has been a rock up front for us,” Seminole head coach said. “He’s the kind of kid every coach wants — tough, consistent, and always improving. UTEP is getting a great player and an even better person.”

Three Division I Signings for Seminole’s 2026 Class

Elrod joins two other Seminole players who have already signed Division I scholarships:

Caton Cramer – Running Back/Linebacker, signed with Division I Abilene Christian University

Austin Olivas – Safety, signed with Harvard University

Together, this trio represents one of the strongest groups of Division I signees in program history.

Division II Signing Success Continues

In addition to the three Division I commitments, Seminole also celebrates two Division II signings — both at the wide receiver position:

Logan McCormick – Wide Receiver, signed with University of Texas Permian Basin Falcons (UTPB), a premier Division II program in the Lone Star Conference

[First Name] Garcia – Wide Receiver, signed with Sul Ross State University Lobos, continuing a strong offensive tradition for the Indians

Garcia and McCormick have been key contributors to Seminole’s passing attack, both combining athleticism and playmaking ability throughout their high school careers.

A Banner Year for Seminole Football

With five total signees — three to Division I and two to Division II — Seminole’s 2026 recruiting class stands as a testament to the program’s competitive depth and player development. Community members and coaching staff alike praised the student-athletes for their dedication and work ethic.

“These young men have earned every opportunity through countless hours of preparation and sacrifice,” the head coach said. “We’re proud of them all and can’t wait to see what they accomplish at the next level.”
